New Middle School Opens

Lois S. Hornsby Middle School opened their doors for the first time to students on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010. This state-of-the-art building is more than 145,000 square feet and design to house 800 students. It’s the first school in Williamsburg/James City County to have a geothermal HVAC system.

Residents of Liberty Ridge enjoy the benefit of a quality school system. Students attend Hornsby Middle School, along with Warhill High School (opened in fall of 2007) and Montague Elementary School. All James City County schools are fully-accredited by the state with exemplary Standards of Learning test scores, achieving an overall average of 90% or higher in every tested subject.
